   DO WE TAKE YOUR INSURANCE?

A question we are often asked is "Do we take insurance?" The simple answer is YES!
Our business staff will do everything possible to maximize your benefits.  We will help you determine the coverage you have available, and prepare any necessary insurance forms on your behalf; however, we are not providers.
If you have dental insurance, you should make sure you can go out of network if you would like to be covered for dental work in our office. 
Why would you go out of network?  Have you ever heard the expression "cheap can be expensive"?  This is very true in dentistry.  Many of our patients have come from insurance practices unhappy with the care they received, and with dental work that needs to be redone.  Why is this? When a dentist is an insurance provider, he or she has made a fee agreement with an insurance company.  Often this means very low reimbursement to the dentist who makes up for it by using the cheapest materials possible.  In addition, many insurance dentists overbook their schedules, which is why you have to wait for so long.
Drs. Bernstein & Auerbach are committed to using the best materials available.  We only use
tooth-colored, non-mercury filling, digital x-rays (80% less radiation), we have a state-of-the-art lab right here in our practice, and we perform elective procedures that are not available at insurance practices.
Most dental insurance does not cover cosmetic procedures such as whitening & veneers, or implants.  So if you need these services, you have to pay out-of-pocket.  And here you choose your treatment, rather than an insurance company choosing for you.
If you have had your teeth cleaned at an insurance practice, think about it for a second. How long did it take? If your answer is around 20 minutes, think about this: we schedule one full hour for adult hygiene appointments.  That's a lot more comprehensive care...and it shows.  We stand behind our work, and give our patients assurances that the work will last.
